Providing technical services to the assets with a view of establishing reliability, availability, integrity and profitability. The service is based on corrective and preventive actions for the assets. Control budgeting and driving cost efficient activity.
Purpose of job
The Maintenance Work Preparator Mechanical has the responsibility for the multidisciplinary planning/work preparation of maintenance (preventive/corrective) in the field of mechanical engineering (piping & mechanical; buildings, roads and civil), and on rotating equipment, in alignment with procedures and processes (Maintenance Execution). Also preparing and coordinating an integrated planning with all disciplines; operations and contractors are part of this responsibility. The planning of the work must be done in such a way that the present or purchased capacity is used in the correct and most efficient way.
Direct
- Responsible for timely and properly preparing / planning all the appropriate preventive and corrective maintenance, so that the work can be performed safely and efficiently.
- Set-up and monitor planned (preventive) and unplanned (corrective) activities.
- Budgeting maintenance activities to have a cost estimate of the work to be performed at an early stage.
- Creating and optimizing task lists for corrective and proactive maintenance.
- Specifying and ensuring the timely delivery of required materials / spare parts and tools.
- Making Work Permits including any Task Risk Analyses (TRAs).
- Updating the Maintenance Management System so that the relevant and correct information can be used.
- Providing administrative tasks around the work preparation process.
Other tasks:
- Act as a source of information for suppliers, and colleagues.
- Since projects are often multidisciplinary in nature, you work closely with colleagues from other disciplines.
- Meet our clients legal regulations in the field of maintenance.
- Maintain and apply all HSSE & Q rules for both own and hired staff and third parties, using the Sunoco Permit-to-work system.
- Work permits issuance, monitoring, collection and feedback.
- Communication with internal customers (stakeholders).
- Participate in the on-call shift for breakdown services.

Key Challenges
Complexity:
Technical/Administrative role focusing on the good functioning of the terminal by means of carrying out accurate and correct maintenance. You are confronted with several technical areas. You give technical advice to maintenance execution and stakeholders. You perform administrative tasks in a directing, planning, and recording way. A high degree of accuracy and discipline is required. There is time pressure frequently, as a result of a timely malfunction elimination and/or completion.
Independence:
Determine the planning within the framework. Operates within the strict guidelines and procedures of law and that of Sunoco. Searching for technical solutions requires initiative and inventiveness. Has regular contact with the supervisor and colleagues.
